An evocative tale of two men – one, a doctor, passionate and romantic; the other, a terrifying madman – and two women – one, beautiful and trusting; the other, beautiful and trusting only herself– both women in love with the same man and both unaware of his dark secret. A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll is driven to find a chemical breakthrough that can solve some of mankind’s most challenging medical dilemmas. Rebuffed by the powers that be, he decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along with the man that the world would come to know as Mr. Hyde.

Fairy Tale One-Acts

2 Youth Theater One-Acts at Jackson’s First Presbyterian Church

November 22, 23, 24, 2019

Trio! is a fast-paced adventure through a trilogy of storybook favorites. Narrated by a triumvirate of ringmasters and giddily guided by a threesome of circus clowns, Trio! races through the three tales of The Three Bears, The Three Pigs, and the Three Billy Goats Gruff, with a twist!

In Bedtime Stories (As Told By Our Dad) (Who Messed Them Up), it’s Dad’s turn to tell his three rambunctious kids their bedtime stories, but when he gets fuzzy on the details, the classics get creative: a prince with a snoring problem spices up The Princess and The Pea, The Boy Who Cried Wolf cries dinosaur instead, and Rumpelstiltskin helps turn all that pesky gold into straw. You may think you know your fairy tales, but not the way Dad tells them.

Youth theater productions are open to all Jackson County 3rd-9th grade youth, no experience necessary! Learn more on our Youth Theater FAQ page.

Making God Laugh

Main Stage Dinner Theatre at Sandhill Crane Vineyards

February 21, 22, 23, February 28, 29, March 1, & March 6, 7, 8, 2020

As Woody Allen once said, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans…”

Making God Laugh follows one typical American family over the course of thirty years’ worth of holidays. Starting in 1980, Ruthie and Bill’s grown children — a priest, an aspiring actress, and a former football star — all return home, where we learn of their plans and dreams as they embark on their adult lives. The empty-nester parents contend with their own changes, too, as old family rituals are trotted out and ancient tensions flare up. As time passes, the family discovers that, despite what we may have in mind, we often arrive at unexpected destinations.

Auditions to be held in December 2019. Check out our Auditions Page or sign up for our email list to get Audition announcements throughout the year.

When Carl, a teenager, wants to run away from home, he applies for a job with the mysterious Professor Pinecone and his traveling magical marionette puppet show. He quickly discovers, however, that the position comes with all kinds of strings attached. In this play-within-a-play, Carl becomes Pinocchio and improvises his way through the story, meeting some familiar characters — including a cricket with an attitude, the devious fox and cat and the memorable Blues Fairy — as well as some new ones. With the help of this eclectic cast, Carl stumbles upon life’s lessons as he’s forced to make important decisions.
