"TRIO!" is a fast-paced adventure through a trilogy of storybook favorites. Narrated by a triumvirate of ringmasters and giddily guided by a threesome of circus clowns, Trio! races through the three tales of The Three Bears, The Three Pigs, and the Three Billy Goats Gruff, with a twist! Play by Lucy Williams.
In "Bedtime Stories (As Told By Our Dad) (Who Messed Them Up)", it's Dad's turn to tell his three rambunctious kids their bedtime stories, but when he gets fuzzy on the details, the classics get creative: a prince with a snoring problem spices up The Princess and The Pea, The Boy Who Cried Wolf cries dinosaur instead, and Rumpelstiltskin helps turn all that pesky gold into straw. You may think you know your fairy tales, but not the way Dad tells them.
Director of TRIO: Aimie Smith
Directors of BEDTIME STORIES...: Bob & Pam Bullock
Producer: Doug Meyers
●WHAT TO EXPECT AT AUDITIONS●
No preparation necessary, youth new to theater welcome and encouraged to attend! Youth will do a cold reading from the script with other youth. Actors do NOT need to prepare a song or dance for this audition!
A “cold reading” means reading from a script without seeing it or being able to practice it beforehand. Please note that the production team will not have actors read for every character (or even the character the actor might want to play). The purpose of the reading is to find out how much volume and expression the actor can read with, as well as how they adjust to direction.
Parents: Please be prepared to list any rehearsal conflicts (September 16-November 24) when filling out the audition form at your audition.
Read-through & Mandatory Parent Meeting will be held Monday September 16 at 4:30pm. Regular rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 4:30pm-6:00pm starting Monday September 16 at Jackson's First Presbyterian Church, 743 W. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI 49201.
Not all actors will be called to every rehearsal, dependent on roles.
Please Note: During Tech Week (November 18-21) rehearsal times will change to 6:00pm-9:00pm and are mandatory for all cast.
